An unusually warm December in Milwaukee continued with highs around 50 degrees mid-month. I couldn’t think of a better reason to take an early evening walk along the public path behind the Harbor House restaurant on the lakefront. Only one couple was out at that time, otherwise the area was empty. Too bad, it was a great night. Hope you enjoy the images. Shop prints at my online gallery
The 6th grade Saukville Rebels beat the Slinger Owls 19-6 on an unusually warm end of October morning. The Rebels were in control from start to finish with Slinger scoring their lone touchdown in the last two minutes. The Rebels players were announced prior to kickoff having their names and numbers announced to an enthusiastic crowd. Hard to believe the season is over next week.
Wisconsin is “The Dairy State”. To say farming is big in Wisconsin would be an understatement but we are seeing more and more of the smaller family farms being sold to large “corporate” farms or being sold, the barns and silos leveled, land turned into neat rows of houses. It was a crisp October afternoon when the Saukville Rebels clashed with the Mequon Cardinals in a 6th grade football matchup. Big plays defined the afternoon which say the Rebels clinch the Conference Championship with a 46-26 victory.
On this morning the clouds were hanging low on Lake Michigan, creating what I like to call “drama”. As a landscape photographer (primarily) I’m always on the lookout for contrast of lights and dark and thus my favorite times to shoot are dawn, dusk(ish). This past Saturday evening (Oct 3rd 2015) I had the pleasure of meeting up with about 50 fellow photographers from the SE Wisconsin area. It was a grey, overcast evening with a few rain drops falling from the sky. Not ideal conditions but at the same time, presenting some opportunities, more on that in a moment.
