Sunrise In the Beginning

In the Beginning by James Meyer Photography

Sunrise, Halloween morning, October 31, 2016 in Port Washington, WI, more specifically, Veterans Memorial Park. I call this image, “In the Beginning” for several reasons.  Sunrise marks the beginning of a new day.  But this particular location also boasts a outlet of some type of water pipe which dispatches rain water into the lake.  I’m not really sure about the details but it makes a great location to make images of Lake Michigan, the Port Washington lighthouse. Fish Day Morning – 2016

Fish Day morning sunrise by James Meyer Photography

The 2016 edition of Port Washington’s Fish Day began with a magnificent sunrise which filled and already busy marina with a warm golden glow.  Visitors from near and far flock to what is billed as the Worlds Largest One Day Outdoor Fish Fry.  The very first Fish Day, August 21, 1965 featured deep-fried fish and chips, beer and soda which is pretty much the menu for the current version of Fish Day. Enjoy the view from the marina Download…

Property Photos of Kitchens

Kitchen photographed for Realtor Josh Perringer of Remax United in Port Washington WI

Real estate buyers put huge importance on the kitchen, living room, curb appeal, master bedrooms, backyard, and master bathrooms, pretty much in that order. This was determined in an eye-tracking study conducted Michael J. Seiler, Professor and Robert M. Stanton Chair of Real Estate, Old Dominion University, Poornima Madhavan, Old Dominion University, Department of Psychology and Molly Liechty, Old Dominion University,Department of Psychology.  The study was published June 2011 and goes into quite a bit of detail about what…

Hank Aaron State Trail Downtown Milwaukee

Pier Light and lighthouse in Milwaukee WI harbor

The Hank Aaron State Trail is a popular and fantastic public walkway that follows the downtown Milwaukee lakefront, near the Henry W Maier Festival Park west past Miller Park. In fact, you can see many important Milwaukee landmarks along it’s 12-mile route. I “discovered” the trail section along the Milwaukee lakefront on New Years Day, 2016.  I actually felt quite foolish when seeing how simple the access was and how magnificent the views right along the lakefront.  Having lived…

December Milwaukee Lakefront Walk

An unusually warm December in Milwaukee continued with highs around 50 degrees mid-month.  I couldn’t think of a better reason to take an early evening walk along the public path behind the Harbor House restaurant on the lakefront.  Only one couple was out at that time, otherwise the area was empty.  Too bad, it was a great night. Hope you enjoy the images.   Shop prints at my online gallery

Milwaukee Photo Walk

This past Saturday evening (Oct 3rd 2015) I had the pleasure of meeting up with about 50 fellow photographers from the SE Wisconsin area.  It was a grey, overcast evening with a few rain drops falling from the sky.  Not ideal conditions but at the same time, presenting some opportunities, more on that in a moment.  We began the walk at the Milwaukee Public Market and headed north, hugging the Milwaukee River towards the Rock Bottom restaurant.  After the…
