Milwaukee River Water Frolics

Kayaks on the Milwaukee River at Night

The Milwaukee River provides the perfect avenue for boaters and those looking for great scenery in a downtown big city.  Cutting through downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin it’s banks provide destination dining experiences and her waters provide great opportunity for those wanting to experience downtown Milwaukee from a wetter perspective. As day turns to night the after work crowd unwinds at the many dining and drinking establishments lining the river.   Video from the Milwaukee River

Rushing to Sunrise

Milwaukee sunrise by James Meyer Photography

Sunrise in downtown Milwaukee, WI This was supposed to be a relaxing start to the weekend.  That was the plan.  Unfortunately, I got a late start and a late start to photograph the sunrise equals failure in many cases.  Driving south down I-43 towards downtown Milwaukee I kept looking to my left, east towards the lake and the rising sun.  With each passing moment the sky got a little brighter.  I had checked my The Photographer’s Ephemeris (TPE) app…

MPTV Great TV Auction Featured Artist Interview

Inverview with Tiffany Pua of MPTV and James Meyer

What a great experience!  The MPTV Great TV Auction crew interviewed me at the Port Exploreum interactive museum in Port Washington WI on Friday, February 19, 2016. On The Edge

On The Edge by James Meyer Photography in Port Washington

“On the Edge” North Beach, Port Washington, WI., January 15, 2016 I call this shoot “On the Edge” as I was literally on the edge of Lake Michigan for all these shots.  At one point when some higher waves reached up and grabbed me.  On the Edge also refers the natural elements of these images.  The sea and land meet.  Temperatures rise and dive, dancing above and below the freezing mark. December Milwaukee Lakefront Walk

An unusually warm December in Milwaukee continued with highs around 50 degrees mid-month.  I couldn’t think of a better reason to take an early evening walk along the public path behind the Harbor House restaurant on the lakefront.  Only one couple was out at that time, otherwise the area was empty.  Too bad, it was a great night. Hope you enjoy the images.   Shop prints at my online gallery

Rebels Ground the Owls

The 6th grade Saukville Rebels beat the Slinger Owls 19-6 on an unusually warm end of October morning. The Rebels were in control from start to finish with Slinger scoring their lone touchdown in the last two minutes. The Rebels players were announced prior to kickoff having their names and numbers announced to an enthusiastic crowd. Hard to believe the season is over next week.

Wisconsin Farming

Wisconsin is “The Dairy State”.  To say farming is big in Wisconsin would be an understatement but we are seeing more and more of the smaller family farms being sold to large “corporate” farms or being sold, the barns and silos leveled, land turned into neat rows of houses.  I had the chance to visit the Klass farmstead in rural Ozaukee County this summer. I was taken around the farm by Denise Klass who was warm, friendly and patient…
